more here than you think

It looks simple enough,a good days work cleaning up for the next round that it was.But if you look closer you can see that the ground is good black dirt..The problem..In this flood area a forest floor like this has no chance against erosion except the tree roots that are currently being left while removing the trees themselves. Untethered dirt  is not something I really want to leave until spring ,so..I am going to throw something on it like oats or whatever.I am also going to call a couple of people to get a little feedback if the local grain elevator doesnt have something that will root now..Crap,I thought waiting until oct to make space for the indian bat was ok,but it seems to have caused a little bit of a late start for fall planting of grass.
Next time I will request to thin trees to allow for seed to take root and help stop erosion and this shouldnt effect the bats, whom I seen two of a couple of days ago..
This is a good sign although I know little about bats ,I do know they eat bugs and dont really mess with people..I know you hear stories about persons getting rabies vaccines after getting bitten by many animals, but I thought that there was only one case of anyone ever surviving rabies anyway.Well thats what my dad always said,I have been bitten by a few animals in my day, like white arctic fox, racoons ,rabbits and even skunks..Although mostly caged ,I dont feel rabid without getting shots for being bitten a lot..I am sure my dad was trying to save a buck so he probably figured what we didnt know wouldnt hurt us,besides he was an RN,so I didnt fear rabies ..but bites still hurt none the less.I share too much some times ,but it keeps me human. The moral is dont fear bats, remain calm in there presence and understand them.
