Bee cause

Here is a perfect example of a tree that is dead in the middle.I did not see it in time and it made a huge barber chair and fell in the wrong direction. This is the problem we encountered in cutting the "big oak" so it is being shaved..
On a more human note..I found a hive of honey bees that were in need of rescue according to their new owners.I was schooled on the behavior of the swarm and its lack of honey supply. The verdict was they would need to be fed to survive the winter because they had used most of their honey reserves already.I did get to taste of their work and even chewed the wax from the honey comb. What an amazing creature to produce such remarkable products like honey and wax from blossoms.I hope that someday I will have the bee guys back to place hives in the orchards, yes they are harmless bees. They never showed any sign of aggression as cut the log and bungied a blanket around it for transport. Thanks to Blue Jay we were able to load it into the back of a pickup truck by hand..Most all the bees survived but a few will surely die without a new home.I was assured however that the colony certainly would not have made the winter with the little honey they had stored..
